Hallow’s End: Holiterra the Hallowed

I’m not big on Blizzard’s achievements, sure there are goals I set for myself in-game but the achievements I do attain rarely match what Blizzard considers an achievement. Hallow’s End is my favorite Holiday within World of Warcraft and since I had time I figured I might as well go for the achievement.
Holiterra only had a few things left to get ‘The Hallowed‘ achievement. She had done the rest last year. Holi needed to visit a few inns to pick up the last few candy bags. She had to gather rotten eggs and lob them in the center of the Southshore town. While there, she had to damage their kegs. Additionally she had t consume G.N.E.R.D.S. while in battlegrounds and achieve 50 Honorable kills. Yesterday, Holiterra got the achievements. The battleground was fairly easy. I love PVP, and it’s fairly easy to get the Honorable Kills. My problem was remembering to eat the G.N.E.R.D.S. so yeah… Holiterra was playing a few Battlegrounds yesterday.
PvP as a Holy Priest
From what I’ve been reading Disc is more viable in PvP than Holy. I’m still entering battlegrounds as Holy. I’m thinking of trying out a some type of Disc/Holy hybrid for PVP. At the moment I have a Holy/Disc build that has been extremely helpful.
I really enjoy PVP, and absolutely love PvP as a priest. Holiterra can be very hard to kill. It doesn’t take to long for me to get on the Kill on Sight list when I’m in a battleground, I do a massive amount of healing while I’m there, and make life miserable for the opposing faction, by keeping those around me alive. There were a few times when I was targeted by a bunch of Alliance, but it still took them a while to take me down, and they weren’t always successful. Ahh, good times for sure!
Speaking of pvp…
Earlier this week, I logged onto the Auchindoun server. Auchindoun was the first server I made toons. It’s a pvp server, and I have several Alliance toons located there. I chatted with a Brazilian buddy. My Brazilian buddy is really into Battlegrounds/Arenas and so I’m thinking of transferring Divina my level 73 Draenei Holy Priest to that server. She’s currently on the Kael’thas server. The Alliance economy on Auchindoun really sucks, but I did well before so I know I can make WOW gold there again. I’m thinking Divina will be strictly PvP. I won’t play her too much, I really love my Horde toons but it will be nice to hang out with him now and again in-game.
Grats hon! For the past 3 days I have been a Hallowed Helm away from the achievement…so it’s not looking so good for me this year!
Sending your toon positive vibes. You have until the 31st so there is still hope /fingers crossed
…positive vibes showers your Shadow priest
*absorbs your good vibes*
thx hon!
I’ve just started really working the Alliance AH on Auchindoun. I have nothing to compare it against, so what your humble opinion makes it so poor.
Hello Fradynn,
I popped on the AH earlier this week, the amount of pages, at least on Alliance side, is low. When I checked it was in the high 100’s. Now that I think of it, Bronzebeard is slightly better since the average amount of pages is in the mid 200’s and on weekends Bronzbeard auction pages (usually) gets into the low 300’s.
What I’ll be doing when I start back playing there again is check if lowbie items are selling. I’m mainly playing on Bronzebeard (Horde-side) these days. The mats to level professions such as cooking, mining, tailoring, have done very well. Although the Horde population is small compared to some of the servers I have toons people still will drop professions to create new ones, or create new toons, or they might be new to WOW too. Naturally I’ll use my professions (Enchanting, Tailoiring, Mining, and Skinning.) I cannot remember the others offhand.. but I would like to see how a lowbie would fare there. It’s been a while.
I need to recheck the bag market to see how that is doing. When I was on there last year, the cloth cost more than the bags.
Enchanting did very well, and it was very easy to control that market because there weren’t as many people on Alliance side. I’d be curious to see how that market is now. I’m really curious to see how Inscription would do there too… I won’t be as aggressive there, simply because well I love playing Horde side, but I do miss my Alliance buddies too.
With WOW, part of the fun I have is creating toons on a new server. Although Auchindoun isn’t new since it’s the first place I made toons. I haven’t played on there in well over a year.
You definitely can use small populations servers to your advantage since you have a better chance of controlling some markets. I control a few on Bronzebeard, and still exploring other areas. Eventually I would like to get into jewelcrafting (30 Druid) and Inscription (60 Death Knight.)
On my alliance server, right now, there are 24, 606 items up for auction. So at 50 per page, that would be 480 pages I think?
@Candy,
That sounds like Zul’jin server, the Horde & Alliance ratio wasn’t too far off. Horde side, I’ve seen it get as high as 600+ pages there.
It’s fascinating to see what works. What works on one realm won’t necessarily do well on others. Take for example, Netherweave bags… This afternoon, I ran a scan of the Alliance Auction House on the Auchindoun realm. There is one person that controls the Netherweave bag market. There are six pages of Netherweave bags listed, and they are all their listings.
I imagine they have a Netherweave farmer that sells them the cloth cheap since the Netherweave cloth that I saw was almost the same price as the bags. Then again, all the cheaper Netherweave cloth could had already been bought.
On Kael’thas Netherweave bags sell for less than the actual cloth.
I never sold bags there. Bronzebeard has a few people that sells bags, nothing major but the bags do sell. The cloth is cheaper than the bags so you can make a profit.
On Zul’jin one of my guildies controlled the majority of the higher end enchanting mats market. He ran many out because he would undercut, once they left he sold the enchanting mats for his price. I don’t have time to camp the AH like that.
Regarding Bronzebeard, I see a few names pop out (Enchanting) and I know they are in Jewelcrafting also. One’s a level 80 Death Knight. I suspect they did something similar to myself, create their own guild for their bank alt. There are only three people in that guild. I do know that their things don’t always sell. They run heroics on their Death Knight, and apparently they’ve made a name for themselves(and not in a good way if you believe Trade chat.) I’ve heard a few people blast them in chat for ‘being a loot ninja’. Others chimed in too, stating the same thing. (Trade chat is enabled on my bank toons, so I can snag good deals. I used to avoid that channel like the plague.) There have been a few times when my items were listed at a slightly higher price, but they sold before their items. Then again, it could have been an oversight but it has happened quite a few times.
