WoTLK: Find gems quickly by using Gem Finder
If you’re an end-game player (or a player that likes to get the most out of their gear.) There might have been times when you were looking for a gem but weren’t exactly sure what it was called. If you don’t want to waste your time scouring the variety of gem colors listed on the Auction House there is another option. Enter the WOTLK Gem Finder, I stumbled upon it earlier today and am liking it a lot.
This little gem, is helpful for all my toons. Especially Pouncealot who happens to be a Grand Master Jewelcrafter. Although I don’t know the names to all the epic gems I would like to purchase thanks to this feature I really don’t need to know that. I just type in the stats, quality, or color and will filter according.
Pouncealot is trying to decide which recipes she wants to purchase next. As I mentioned before she got an huge start with Jewelcrafting epic gem recipes, she purchased several and has been sitting on numerous tokens until she can make up her mind what she wants to purchase. The WoW Gem Finder has been extremely helpful.
Pounce doesn’t have too much competition when it comes to some of the gems she sells. So even if she puts gems up for slightly higher than the few that are listed they still will sell. That’s understandable, right. Patch 3.3 was released last week. That means new gear is rolling in, people want to gem their new outfits.
Auction House: Saronite ore has increased
The price of Saronite ore has increased since Patch 3.3 was released. Pounce isn’t worried about that. I have a Hunter who’s a miner/herbalist. Once patch 3.3 hit my bank toons weren’t seeing low priced Saronite on the Auction House anymore. I would always purchase every stack of cheap ore when they were available. Now my Hunter comes out to mine a little more. Additionally I have a Saronite farmer who sells me the ore at a low price. Yes, Pouncealot is new to the Jewelcrafting market but she’s not going anywhere. My bank toons will be selling gems for a long time.
I need to pick up more of a money making prof. Very good read, you posted this while I was replying to your last post I think lol. I am still being lazy, I need to drop skinning.

Indeed, I checked the Silvermoon economy briefly when I scanned the Auction House. It’s definitely a lot bigger than little Bronzebeard Horde-side. We have a little over 200 pages, Silvermoon has well over 500 pages of Auction House items. I love playing the Auction House and have done quite well with it. It’s fairly easy to make money, even at the low levels. On a comparable server to silvermoon I made 1k my first week. That was with brand-new toons. My highest toon was 16 at the time.
I’m still unsure what professions I’ll choose on my toons. Definitely will have Jewelcrafting, as one profession once Leaf is higher. I picked up Herbalism, still undecided of the other profession. Ah, decisions, decisions…
